EiCL can it!:
Following a lenghtly design consultation / Tendering process, Rexam \"a leading global consumer packaging group and a leading global beverage can maker\" have selected EICL to design, supply and install a new chilled water system. Rexam had a number of requirements in relation to the complete factory re-fit. All of which were met by EICL. We have designed a new system which is more reliable, shall allow for off-cycle cooling, free cooling by means of an Aermec Dry Air Cooler and a number of new energy efficient Aermec Water Chillers.:

Avoid freeze ups:
Now is the time to ensure that you have adequate Glycol Antifreeze in your chilled water system to avoid a freeze up. Last winter many Water Chillers and Heat Pumps were damaged beyond viable repair. Many Heating and Cooling coils in Air Handling Units were also damaged leading to expensive repairs. Many insurance companies will not cover the cost of repairs if you do not have adequate freeze protection added to the heating or cooling system.
EiCL will carry out a simple refractometer test if you provide a sample from your system for only €20.00. Glycol prices are available on http://www.eicl.ie/content.php?page=6.:

Protect your investment:
Due to the downturn in the economy many companies are investing in Preventative Maintenance rather than forking out on replacement equipment. As such we have found an increase in the amount of Preventative Maintenance Contracts (PMC) on our books. Our PMC\'s are designed to optimise efficiencies, ensure equipment life span and minimise downtime due to breakdowns as many problems can be identified prior to failure (such as refrigerant gas leaks).
Did you know that BY LAW you must have your refrigerant equipment leak tested (if over 3kg) by a certified F-Gas Technician (with C&G2079) on a periodic basis to prevent prosecution by the EPA. Full details are available upon request.
EICL can provide a very comprehensive PMC including a leak check for less than the cost of a regular call out, thereby ensuring that you are compliant with current legislation. Please call our office our Service Director on 086 2634103 for a quotation.:

EICL take flight:
The aviation experts Lufthansa in Rathcoole have selected EICL to provide and install a new Air Cooled Water Chiller for their High speed grinder chamber. It is of the utmost importance that the chamber is kept at a constant temperature and the grinder works to extreme tolerances. To further optimize the efficiency of an aircraft engine after the repair process, the High Speed Grinder is used to provide automated measurements and alignment on the rotors of a running engine. EICL provided a full turnkey solution from supply and installation through to a Preventative Maintenance Contract. I must say it is an absolute pleasure to work with such knowledgable Technicians and Engineers.:

AMC choose EICL:
Abbey Moulding Contractors, who are specialists in the fields of toolmaking and all aspects of moulding, have recently developed a new recycling facility in Drumcolliher, Co. Limerick. EICL were employed to design and supply a chiller to suit the load requirements and duly provided a Thermocold Domino 180 (80kW) modular water chiller. We offered a Domino chiller as it provides the option to add another modular chiller with the minimal of space required if needed in the future. We would like to wish AMC the very best of luck with their new facility.:

Get the Max Factor with EICL:
Proctor & Gamble - the makers of cosmetics and skin care products, such as Max Factor and Olay, have employed the services of EICL to assist in the design of chilled water systems for two new production lines.
Based upon the calculated load and taking into consideration part load requirements, we supplied a Thermocold Domino 1270ZC (300kW) air cooled water chiller with multiple scroll compressors to work in conjunction with a large weir tank to provide a stable supply temperature and allow for off-cycle cooling. The system shall have a primary chilled water circuit with a fixed flow rate to protect the chiller in low load situations and a secondary process circuit with a VSD on the pump to save energy when the load decreases. All pumps, pipework, valves, components and fittings were designed by EICL to provide the most efficient operating system.
EICL were selected for these projects on the back of many years service support and technical ability.:

No job to small!!:
We recieved an inquiry from Rosderra meats where they required an extremely small chiller to facilitate a cooling load under 3kW. It was important that they got a unit that had an integral pump and tank set (plug & Play). Within a number of hours we personally delivered a HLA S03 Packaged Water Chiller from our stock in Dunboyne. A satisfied customer was delighted with the rapid response.:

Keeping the Celebs Cool!!!:
A new Ice Bath facility has been opened in Nobber, Co. Meath and EICL have collaborated with Anglo Irish Refrigeration to supply one of our HLA packaged chillers for this application. Ice baths are known to reduce the lactose acid that builds up in the mussles whilst exercising. Due to the low temperature of 0.5degC that is required, a carefully designed system needed to be conceived. We recomended that the cooling take place through the use of a Plate Heat Exchanger where glycol could be added to the primary circuit to protect the chiller from freezing. An electrical control system was also proposed to protect the secondary circuit from freezing. The system was recently installed and commissioned by one of Anglo\'s best Refrigeration Engineers \'Mick McKeown\' and EICL\'s \'Peter McMahon\'. We believe that \'Celebrity Bainisteoir\' will be making a visit to the Ice baths in the near future.:

Listal chooses EICL:
Listal Ltd has chosen EICL to supply two chillers for their factory in Listowel, Co. Kerry. We have supplied a packaged HLA chiller for a dedicated product and a Thermocold Domino chiller for the centralised cooling system to replace the dated inefficient Trane chiller. Listal had very specific requirements regarding the features required on the chillers and EICL made the modifications as required.:

Mushroom growing:
EICL were recently approched by a mushroom grower on a tight budget, where they needed to replace an old R22 chiller which had just failed at the start of the growing season. We proposed a second hand ex-hire Thermocold chiller that had just come off-hire. Upon investigation, we discovered that the old chiller had a very small water pump which may have contributed to the failure of the old chiller. As such we recommended the installation of a new pump and buffer tank to be used in conjunction with the chiller. Upon installation of the chiller our Service Technician noted that the controller had been damaged from the previous hire. We imediately ordered a new controller and supplied a replacement chiller FOC to save the product from ruin due to rapid increase in temperature from the very warm weather and heat generated from the product. The customer expressed his sincere gratitude for our customer service as he accepted that the fault was unpredictable and we did everything in our power to protect his product from ruin.:
March 2010
Too hot to handle:
Zip firelighters may be too hot to handle for many, but not for EICL as we recently secured the order for a prototype installation in Standard Brands, the manufacturer of ZIP.
As this particular type of process had never been attempted before in Ireland, Std Brands wanted a company that could design a cooling plant that could cool their parafin laden fluid through a cooling tunnel. The tunnel did not lend itself to a simple cooling jacket, so we decided that the best route was to cool the product by chilled air. Therefore we designed a system in conjunction with Mark Eire where the ambient fresh air would be utilised when possible thereby reducing running costs and a Packaged HL Cooling chiller would provide cooling when necessary. As there was a lot of heat dissipation from the product we suggested utilising energy for factory cooling through the installation of a heat recovery exchanger. EICL completed this project on schedule and within budget and provided the customer with a very energy efficient solution including frre heating in addition to their original process cooling requirements.:
Feb 2010
Big Freeze:
Many companies were caught out by the big freeze as we have experienced temperatures much lower than anyone could have predicted. Ensure that you are prepared before it happens again. We will check the Freeze protection in your chilled water system as part of a Preventative Maintenance Contract or if you send us a sample for a nominal charge of €30.00. Purchase Cool Flow Glycols from EICL before you you are left with very high repair/replacement bills.:
Nov 2009
Novostrat chooses EICL:

R22 illegal:
ONLY SIX MONTHS TO GO!!!
Are you ready for the ban?
From the 31st December 2009 there shall be a complete ban on HCFC’s (i.e. virgin R22) gases. The purchase of virgin R22 will be impossible and as such any chillers requiring service work will become entirely redundant. Please note that this ban includes the storage of R22 on site for future use. As this will render your critical cooling equipment obsolete this may result in leaving your manufacturing process or Air Conditioning in a very vulnerable position.
However this is totally avoidable if you take counter measures now by deciding to either a) retrofit to another refrigerant (such as R407A or R417A) or b) replace with newer more energy efficient equipment using R407C or R410A.
Should you require a quotation for a retrofit or replacement, please contact a member of our sales staff.:

We have always held the IRI in the very highest regard as it is the only representative body for Refrigeration Engineers in Ireland and the only forum for members to network and exchange valuable information. As such we are delighted to have a member of EICL involved in the committee and consequently at the forefront of the latest standards and legistration governing our industry. We believe this can only lead to a better service for our customers.
We also believe that Peter shall bring a wealth of knowledge to the IRI with his specialist expertise in \'Chilled water Systems\' and the chalenges that are encoutered in this field.
We would like to wish Peter the very best in his new position. Please note that this is a voluntary part time position that will not in any way effect Peter\'s commitment to EICL customers.:
